After receiving his BA in art from Kennesaw State University in 1993, Matthew Craven has explored many mediums, including ceramic sculpture, and painting in encaustic, acrylic, and oils. The medium of oil soon took the forefront and now represents the bulk of his work. Starting with free-flowing gestural lines, his compositions soon emerge by judiciously editing the lines and allowing subtle shapes to present themselves. Matthew's love of architecture is apparent in his work with strong structural elements and organic forms working together. Matthew maintains a studio in Marietta, GA with his partner, a fellow painter.
